The
National Black Herstory Task Force, Inc. (NBHTF) is a
non-profit cultural and educational organization founded to
provide vehicles to collect, research, authenticate,
document, archive and celebrate the legacies and lives of
women of African descent and their alliances world-wide.
Respectfully, we note that in order to accurately tell our
stories, we must include the relationships shared with our
brothers and allies. The National Black Task Force seeks to
honor those allies who risked their positions in society,
and often their lives, to assist us.
In 2000 the National Black Herstory Task Force receiving
the United State President’s Commission on the Celebration
of Women in American History’s Certificate of Recognition
for Community Projects.
We were humbled by this honor and the nationally
recognized women and men who recommended us for this honor.
Successful
programs currently being used are the annual National Black
Herstory Conference and Awards banquet, workshops, the
collection of oral and written herstories and, quarterly
editions of

.
Plans for the second phase of our growth include the
development of an online library, a video archive of
stories, radio program and, the founding of a research
library and cultural center.
To help us achieve these goals we are focusing on chapter
development and partnering with similar community and global
organization. We invite you to join us now as we move on to
Phase II of our journey. Members and volunteers are needed
to help us correct voids and misinformation in the telling
of our stories. Together, with the support of educators,
professionals and grassroots members of the community, we
shall teach the world community that there cannot be an
accurate recording of world history that does not include
herstory.

Mothers' Day Is Almost Here
One day just doesn’t
seem enough to celebrate or remember the special women
in our lives. Therefore, the National Black Herstory
Task Force (NBHTF) has designed a unique page that
will showcase your loved ones from May to May.
