Your children salute
you during this Mother's Month in the name of love,
respect and awe. We are just so grateful that you
and Dad were able to pave a smoother way for us to
make our respective life journeys than either of you
had. We hope we have made you proud. We also respect
and admire so much the journey you made and we want
you to know what a model you have been for us. Your
commitment to education beginning with your own graduation
from high school after you started your family and
ending as a retired fourth grade teacher with your
own master's degree is an awesome testimony for which
we are proud.
Your children--Janice Liddell,
Beverly Liddell-Smith, Faika Munirah(Patricia Liddell),
Lee Liddell Jr.; your grandchildren and greatgrandchildren

Sweeter than a potato
pie, our mother was as strong and stable as Mount
Kenya. Born Lula Mae Williams in Sunflower County,
MS, she fled north only to land in a concrete jungle.
A beautiful rose, who never seemed to wilt. She would
laugh and giggle all the time. Ms. Kennedy was mother
of seven children that she loved unconditionally.
Look closely and you will see the nurturing eyes of
a good mother.
Love, your daughter,

As Black Women,
we all believe our Mothers are the strongest women
in the world and I am no exception. I KNOW she is!!
After surviving two major Strokes, a brain anarism
and she still has her right mind and can testify how
good God has been to her and her family is a miracle!
Congratulations Momma for being a Mother of the Year!!

"Mama exhorted her children
at every opportunity to 'jump at de sun.' We might not land
on the sun, but at least we would get off the ground."
Zora Neale Hurston
Every mother is like Moses. She does
not enter the promised land. She prepares a world she will
not see. Pope Paul VI
"When you are a mother, you
are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always
has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child."
Sophia Loren
"And so our mothers and grandmothers
have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative
spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped
to see -- or like a sealed letter they could not plainly
read." -- Alice Walker
A mother is a person who seeing there
are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces
she never did care for pie. Tenneva Jordan
